Generations of cottages line the private roads that the 300 acre village encompasses. Weekapaug means “end of the pond". The Breechway allow access to the open ocean for boaters and fisherman. The rock jetties lining the breech ways from Quonnie and Winnapaug Pond are mainly granite; Westerly granite.
Westerly's granite industry was long time history of employment for the townspeople. Blue and Pink granite has been used thru out New England.
