SOUTH KINGSTOWN, Rhode Island

South Kingstown was formed in 1722. The former king towne split the  land West of the Pettaquamscutt River to become Narragansett and East South Kingstown.

Water is everywhere in coastal South Kingstown...the beaches at Green Hill, Jerusalem, Matunuck, Moonstone, the rivers Pettaquamscutt, Queen's and Saugatucket.  Ponds include the Great Salt Pond, Wordens, Hundred Acre and Potters to name the more visited.

Additionally, the town has nearly 11,000 acres of protected open space. The town’s people of South Kingstown take great ownership in increasing and ensuring the natural beauty of the area.

The University of Rhode Island is located in the village of Kingston. Historic Wakefield is an architectural show piece. All unique shops and restaurants encourage you to stop by.

Long-time residents and visitors of South Kingstown all come here for a lot of the same reasons; the quiet tranquility of the natural beaches and the historical landmarks of farmland and villages.
